Lou’s dad carefully helped adjust his bow tie while the groomsmen gathered nearby. Meanwhile, Natalia spent the morning with her bridesmaids and family.
One of the most meaningful moments happened while Natalia’s mother helped button the back of her wedding dress. The room became quiet for a moment as they focused on the small details together. Natalia’s family had traveled from Argentina for the wedding, so the time they shared together that morning felt especially meaningful.

The ceremony took place at Saint John Cantius Chicago, one of the most breathtaking Catholic churches in the city.

When the ceremony began, the entire space felt reverent and peaceful. Natalia and Lou stood before the altar surrounded by family and friends as they exchanged their vows.
One especially beautiful tradition during the Mass was when they brought their Marian bouquet to the side altar of the Virgin Mary. This Catholic tradition symbolizes gratitude and devotion, and it added a meaningful moment to the ceremony.
After the final blessing, Natalia and Lou processed down the aisle with huge smiles as their guests celebrated.

Chicago Wedding Portraits Along the Riverwalk
After the ceremony, we headed downtown Chicago for portraits.
We started along the Chicago Riverwalk with just Natalia and Lou. Almost immediately, some passersby offered the newlyweds a couple of beers to celebrate. They happily accepted, and the moment created some incredibly fun and relaxed portraits.
The Chicago skyline, the warm tones of the river, and Natalia’s bouquet created the perfect color palette for these images.
Next, we traveled to the Chicago Board of Trade for wedding party portraits. Surprisingly, the street was almost completely empty. In fact, I think only two cars drove through while we were there.
Because of that, we were able to fully embrace the architecture around us. The wide street and dramatic buildings made an incredible backdrop for the wedding party photos.
A Reception Celebration at Chicago Illuminating Company
Natalia and Lou’s reception took place at Chicago Illuminating Company, a unique urban indoor / outdoor event space.
Cocktail hour took place in the indoor space, which later transformed into the dance floor for the evening.
I always love when couples join their guests during cocktail hour. As a result, they actually get time to talk and connect with everyone who traveled to celebrate with them.
While guests mingled, I moved between the cocktail space and dinner room capturing details and candid moments. Children played nearby while parents chatted with friends, creating a relaxed and joyful environment.
The wedding color palette featured beautiful shades of blue and pink, and many of the guests dressed within those tones. Because of this, the entire room looked cohesive and elegant.
Later in the evening, Natalia and Lou’s closest family and friends shared heartfelt toasts. Several speeches were given in Spanish and then translated into English by Natalia’s sister. Even so, the emotion behind every speech was easy to understand.
After dinner, the celebration continued on the dance floor.
Natalia surprised everyone with an outfit change into a sparkly dancing dress. Then the music started and the party truly began. They danced with friends and family until the venue finally closed for the night.
