A Moving Memory of Your Wedding Day

Super 8mm Wedding Film

Book Your film →

Super 8 is a vintage motion picture film format that captures your wedding with a soft, nostalgic quality reminiscent of old family home movies. Unlike traditional wedding videography, it’s simple and documentary in nature—preserving the movement, emotion, and in-between moments that make your day feel alive.

Perfect for couples who want to relive the feeling of their wedding day without adding a large video production, Super 8 creates a timeless keepsake filled with warmth and personality.

Real analog film capturing the laughter, movement, and quiet moments that bring your photographs to life.

I’ve always been a little obsessed with the feeling of old family films—the imperfect frames, the movement, and the way a simple moment can bring you right back in time.

That’s exactly what I love about Super 8. It captures weddings in a way that feels nostalgic and genuine, preserving the laughter, emotion, and joy of your day while allowing those moments to unfold naturally.

A Different Kind of Wedding Film

These are some of my favorite places, but I’m honored to travel wherever you choose to begin your sacramental journey together.

While I'm based in Kansas City, I also travel to photograph Catholic weddings.

Answers to Your Questions

Absolutely! I’m always happy to hear your ideas and learn what feels meaningful to you. If needed, I’ll help choose a song that matches the emotion, pacing, and feeling of the footage.

Can we choose the specific song for our final Super 8 highlight edit?

You’ll receive your 2-5 minutes Super 8 highlight film set to music, along with your color-corrected raw footage. Everything will be delivered through your online gallery, and I’ll also send a keepsake USB with your films.

How will we receive our final video?

Because this is a real film, there is a little more patience involved. After your wedding, the film is mailed to a developer, processed, and scanned before I begin editing.

The full process typically takes around 10-13 weeks, including development, color correction, and creating your final highlight film.

I know the wait is hard—but there’s something special about receiving something created slowly and intentionally.

What is the typical turnaround time for an analog film edit?

I would be happy to do Super 8 for a non-catholic wedding, given that we’re a good fit, and I’m available.

Do you only offer Super 8mm video for Catholic weddings?

I do not offer traditional digital wedding videography, but I have wonderful filmmaker friends I’m happy to recommend.

Super 8 is meant to be a different experience—simple, nostalgic, and documentary in nature rather than a full cinematic wedding film.

Do you offer digital wedding videography?

I’ve learned that trying to do both alone takes away from the experience. Both photography and film deserve intention, so Super 8 is typically captured by a second shooter or an additional team member depending on your timeline.

My goal is always to create beautiful imagery while keeping your wedding day calm and free from unnecessary cameras.

How do you manage to shoot both high-end still photography and motion picture film at the same time?

Film performs best with intentional lighting, so I prioritize digital photography during darker portions of the day. Super 8 also uses a vintage camera that has a noticeable clicking sound, so I’m thoughtful about when and where it is used—especially during a Catholic ceremony.

Before your wedding, we’ll discuss your priorities and determine the best moments to capture on film, whether that’s your processional, exit, portraits, or moments of celebration afterward.

Dimly lit churches and reception spaces can be dark. How does low light affect real film?

Super 8 is a silent film medium, so it does not capture audio from your wedding day. Instead, the final film is set to music, allowing the movement, emotion, and imagery to tell the story.

If recording your vows, homily, or speeches is important to you, I recommend adding a separate audio recording option to your wedding team.

Will our Super 8 film include audio or sound recorded from our wedding day?

Yes! I’m based in Kansas City and love traveling for weddings. I’m especially excited to photograph and create Super 8 films for couples in Chicago, Dallas, DC, New England, and beyond.

Do you travel for Super 8mm films?

This is a real Super 8 film—not a digital filter. I shoot on vintage cameras from the 1970s (and I’ve had my bride’s uncles come up to me and say “I used that thing growing up!”). I use actual rolls of motion picture film that are developed and scanned after your wedding.

Are you using a filter or a preset or do you truly offer Super 8mm wedding films?
