November 1, 2025 | A Romantic Day to Get Married

There’s something about autumn in Atchison, Kansas that feels like pure magic—the crisp air, the glowing trees, and the sense of calm before a day full of love. Mary Margaret and Joe’s November 1st Atchison, Kansas wedding day captured all of that and more.
From the quiet moments as the bride got ready just a block from the church, to their heartfelt ceremony at St. Benedict’s Parish, romantic portraits along 4th Street’s historic brick road, and a joyful celebration at Elizabeth’s Special Events and Catering, every part of the day was filled with warmth, laughter, and deep emotion.
Plus, as a Benedictine alumna, it is always special for me to come back to Atchison, be amongst so many ravens and on a game day none the less! As a Kansas City based wedding photographer, I always love a reason to come up north to BC. To learn more about me click here

Getting Ready in the Heart of Atchison Kansas
The morning began in the coziest way—at the bride’s home, just a short walk from St. Benedict’s Parish. Surrounded by her closest friends and family, she slipped into her gown as the morning light poured through the windows.
It was a calm, joy-filled start to the day—the kind of quiet anticipation that makes wedding mornings so special. These intimate moments always feel like the heartbeat of a wedding day, and capturing them is one of my favorite parts as an Kansas wedding photographer.

A Heartfelt Ceremony at St. Benedict’s Parish | Atchison Kansas Wedding
When it came time to walk down the aisle, the short drive to St. Benedict’s Parish made everything feel beautifully connected. The church, with its grand architecture and timeless charm, was the perfect setting for Mary Margaret and Joe’s vows.
Soft light filtered through the stained glass, friends and family filled the pews, and the couple shared a ceremony filled with love, faith, and joyful tears.

Romantic Bride and Groom Portraits on 4th Street
After the ceremony, we stepped into downtown Atchison for romantic portraits along 4th Street, where the brick road and colorful fall foliage created a storybook backdrop.
The way the leaves framed the couple, the sound of their laughter echoing down the quiet street—it all came together perfectly. These portraits are such a beautiful reflection of what Atchison does best: combining history, charm, and genuine warmth in one perfect frame.

Wedding Party Photos at Atchison Golf Club at Bellevue
Next, we joined the wedding party at the Atchison Golf Club at Bellevue, where rolling greens and golden sunset light made the portraits come alive. The joy and connection among this group were contagious—every laugh, every cheer, every shared moment reminding us what celebration is all about.
The fall colors and open sky created a breathtaking backdrop for these images, and it’s easy to see why the Golf Club is one of Atchison’s favorite photo locations.

A Cozy, Joyful Reception at Elizabeth’s Special Events and Catering
The evening unfolded at Elizabeth’s Special Events and Catering in downtown Atchison, where warmth and elegance filled every corner. Guests gathered to enjoy an incredible dinner, heartfelt speeches, and a dance floor that stayed full all night long.
Elizabeth’s created the perfect atmosphere—inviting, romantic, and filled with light. It was the ideal way to end a day that began with quiet anticipation and grew into a night of celebration and joy.

A Magical Sparkler Exit
To end the night, family and friends gathered outside Elizabeth’s with sparklers in hand, lining the walkway with a tunnel of golden light. The couple shared one last kiss beneath the glow before making their grand exit.
The sparks danced around them as they walked hand in hand into the night—an absolutely perfect finale to a day that was nothing short of magical.
